What the heck is going on, you ask? Say hello to Tersus.

Bare bones? You got it. Tersus is an achingly simple WordPress theme without all the usual cruft.

Disqus

I disabled Disqus commenting on my site. As it stands now, it just doesn’t integrate fully enough into WordPress for me to be happy with it. I’ll see if I can migrate the handful of comments over to be on my site within the next day or so. I think Disqus has a lot of potential, but I just can’t get used to having it here.

Update: I’ve re-enabled Disqus for the time being. Having trackbacks is a welcome addition.

    I’m from Disqus.

Could you detail the issues you had with Disqus? It’d help us greatly in improving the service. Thanks!

Disqus comments don’t appear on the WP Admin Dashboard under recent comments. At the very least, I’think there should be a panel on the Dashboard solely for Disqus comments.

I don’t want to turn Disqus comments on older posts, at all. I have a plugin installed that disables trackbacks and comments on blog entries after a set amount of time. Disqus ignored that, and enabled comments on those posts anyways. I don’t think the global setting is a bad thing, but it’d be nice if Disqus comments could be enabled/disabled on posts on a case by case basis…

Trackbacks weren’t working. I see that’s been fixed as of today. (Support for trackbacks in Disqus

Other than that, I think Disqus is pretty solid. Thanks for asking for feedback!

No problem, Daniel. I think Disqus is great, but wish the WordPress integration were a bit nicer.

I’m using WordPress 2.5.1. Here are a few of the issues I had:

    • Disqus comments don’t appear on the WP Admin Dashboard under recent comments. At the very least, I’think there should be a panel on the Dashboard solely for Disqus comments.
    • I don’t want to turn Disqus comments on older posts, at all.
    • Trackbacks weren’t working. I see that’s been fixed as of today. (Support for trackbacks in Disqus
