Iron Man
I caught an early preview of Iron Man (My Rating: 10/10) last night with my two brothers, Robbie (one of my brother’s friends) and Josh Wilkerson over at the Regal Cinemas Exchange 20. (8:10pm on DLP) The movie was, in a word, awesome. I’m not going to spoil the movie, as many have probably not seen it yet but here some general thoughts I had on the movie:
- Robert Downey, Jr. was born to be Tony Stark. Seriously. They could not have chosen a better actor to play the man. He nailed it.
- While much of the tech was unrealistic, they still made it all seem very plausible. (Think Batman Begins.)
- Gwyneth Paltrow was great as Pepper Pots.
- I will be seeing it again. It’s one of the best comic-based movies I’ve seen.

I’m heading to see Iron Man tonight with some friends. I’ve had high hopes for this movie and glad to hear that you weren’t disappointed.

Chris - what made you deduct 2 points (unless spoilers are involved!)? I’m planning on seeing it on Monday.
Just back in from the movie. I agree with Chris that this is an excellent movie. I’m also interested in the response to Luke’s question.

Admittedly, I’m torn between giving it higher marks. It’s *really good* and it’s definitely a movie I’m going to see more than once in the theatre. (Note that my assessment is just slightly lower than what iMDB currently has it pegged at.) Matter of fact, I’d say that it’s a *really* strong 8/10.
I think the only thing holding me back is that it was an origin story. If Iron Man 2 is done just as well, I’d have no problems giving it a 10/10.
Know what? Screw it. This is officially the best super-hero movie I’ve seen in my life so far. 10/10.

I ended up catching it for a second time this weekend, and it was just as good. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Iron Man yet, you’re missing out.

Saw it last night - loved it. Great movie. Definitely one of the best superhero movies I’ve seen. And the scene at the end of the credits was worth sticking around for.
