First Impressions on Habari

Filed under Design, Personal, Technology on August 4th, 2007 by Chris Harrison

I downloaded and installed the newly released Habari 0.2 Developer Review on a test domain, and I’m impressed. Setup took less time than a typical Wordpress install. Importing posts, pages and comments from my existing WP site took only a few moments. While I don’t think I’ll be making the switch to Habari just yet, I will definitely be taking steps towards migrating this site over to it soon.

So, this is like a blogging platform, like WordPress, correct?

Yep! It’s developed by some of the guys involved with Wordpress and K2, if I am not mistaken. I have a demo setup at http://cdharrisondesign.com

    Yeah Ben, pretty much.

I like the fact that they are using PHP 5 and OOP. I did try the 0.1 release but didn’t get very far with it. I’ll probably give the 0.2 release a go, just to see what has changed.
