AdSense

Standard

I hate advertising as much as the next person, but I quietly added Google AdSense to the site earlier this week. Right now, it’s only a test, and I’ve tried to make it as unobtrusive as possible: Ads only appears on individual post pages. If you happen to subscribe to my RSS feed, you probably won’t even notice.

What do you think about the addition of ads? Love em? Hate em? Let me know…

In the meantime, if you’d like to support this site, feel free to check out what some of the advertisers happen to be, umm, advertising…

I mostly ignore (or AdBlock) ’em, so go for it. I say if it helps offset the cost of blogging, no harm, no foul.

  2. exactly what I am going to do.

100% of the AdSense money will go to a charity. I’ll try to find a worthy cause and post about it in the next day or so.

  3. We’ll see how the “test” goes… It may not even be worth having them on the site if no one finds them useful. We shall see! One idea I’m toying around with is using the AdSense money to go towards a cause of some sort. That’d probably give people more incentive to click on the ads if they knew it was going toward some good.

So, that’s exactly what I am going to do.

  4. posted about putting ads on my own site. I resented the notion at first, but the more I thought about it I came to the same conclusion as Will…if it helps offset the cost of blogging, no harm, no foul. Nicely said Will.

  5. The ads don’t bother me…they blend with your site really well. I had to look for a second to find them. I think donating the AsSense money is a great idea. I usually never click ads unless I’m on the site of one of my web friends and see something interesting come up. I can’t click on them for the fun of it because that would be click fraud.

  6. Yeah, I tried to get them to blend in as much as possible… My content isn’t always the greatest, but I didn’t wants ads futzing things up.
