Clerks 2
I just returned from a 7:45pm showing of Clerks 2 at the local theatre. I had hesitated in going, but my brother offered to buy my ticket, so how could I refuse?
Clerks 2 was offensive, vulgar, crude, disgusting, and so on and so on and so on. It also told a great story.
Clerks 2 takes off 10 years after the original movie, but it doesn’t retell the same story over again. Kevin Smith had something else to say.
I’ve been a fan of Kevin Smith for close to a decade now. Clerks was one of those movies that, at least in my opinion, should be required viewing for people entering the workforce. (The other required film would be Office Space.) Clerks told the story of two guys - Dante and Randal - and their mundane lives at the Kwik Stop. Clerks 2 starts off ten years later with Dante opening up the Kwik Stop only to discover it is engulfed in flames. In an instant, his life is turned upside down. Fast-forward a year - Dante and Randal are now working at Mooby’s working menial jobs, and Dante’s made plans to leave New Jersey and start a new life in Florida. What ensues is hilarious, thought-provoking and even a little emotional.
If you can ignore the crudeness in the flick, and the overuse of profanity you’ll see that at the heart of it, Clerks 2 is a great movie.

Then, after everything was all said and done the flick displayed every single one of Clerks 2’s MySpace friends on the screen… Kev loves his fans. And to me, that is an awesome thing.
On a side note, the flick had some “secrets” at the end …
