it’s friday the 13th. oooh. scary. really. i’m scared. i hate old wives tales. like the number 13 is really so damn unlucky…
anyways, i tried sleeping earlier last night, and found that i could not. so i headed over to the local regal cinemas where i watched a 9:50 showing of final fantasy: the spirits within. i gotta tell you… i’m the kind of person where i either love a movie or hate it… but with this one… i’m all over the place. if you love great animation: go see this movie. if you’re going to go because you think the movie will be like the games… you may want to skip this one out. though the movie does play out as if it were one of the ff games, the story is too spotty and too haphazard for younger audiences to grasp. case in point: i heard several kids say the movie sucked as they left the theater. my own brother, a die-hard ff fan said the movie sucked. moral of the story, don’t see this expecting anything quite like the games. it ain’t gonna happen. the story-line takes place in the future on our planet. final fantasy has always been about adventurers, fighting monsters and bad guys in an attempt to save the world. (okay, so the movie was kinda like this too.) but it’s unlike any of the games. this takes place on earth. the games take place on other worlds.. i dunno… point is, after the two hours i was in the theatre i don’t know whether i liked the movie or not. the animation was awesome. the story was lacking. there. i said it. anyways. it’s really time for bed now. seeya in the morning.
